I added some notes on that issue. To me shading of CM (it's 59k), or parts of it, would make most sense.
I can help in other deployments, but I am not too keen on adding more maintenance work for myself, in supporting different jars. It could also cause issues with Maven dependencies, unless CM itself was split into modules. And that seems like an overkill for a small lib.
