Restart Session

Opened this issue · 5 comments

This is actually a feature request:

A little explanation, and then the proposed changes...

Every time a remote server receives a reboot command, it restarts the computer and closes the connection. After the server is restarted all I have to do is right click the putty icon to show the menu and select restart session and the session is back to the "login as:" prompt.

Here is where the problem begins. I don't care about what I did on my last session. I want a new connection without any text on the screen.

Right now to work around that problem, all I have to do is: Reset Terminal, Clear Scrollback, and finally Restart Session.

The proposed changes are almost entirely on the menu:

Rename the "Restart Session" to "Reconnect Session"
Create a new menu entry "Restart Session" to perform those 3 steps: Reset Terminal, Clear Scrollback and finally Reconnect Session.

idea: better workaround for this problem is using "Duplicate Session" and close the old window.

Unfortunately, @Reiner030, that idea doesn't work on the latest version. Is there any version that it works?

Hi @Carlosgrr , for me it works with p0.66-t028 (just tested again) which should be latest version ?

Same version here, perhaps the Windows version? I am running 10.

ah ,yes... here "good old Windows 7" with actual patch status.
