This would be handy.
Homebrew is happiest if there are versioned source distributions available: adding git tags for version numbers would be sufficient. Then the formula would be easy.

Very handy. 👍 Though I imagine this particular issue would be best discussed over at Homebrew/homebrew. Even so, adding git tags (semver) is something to discuss here.
