Create an annotated list of apps pending migration

Closed this issue · 4 comments

We need to communicate a list of apps which use n-ui and need to be migrated to use Page Kit. This list should be accessible by anybody and clearly convey important information related to migration activity such as any risks, if preliminary work is required, and whether we might block or be blocked by another delivery team.

Requirements:

  • Include all apps using n-ui (inc. any not owned by the customer products team)
  • List apps in the order we plan to/or have been migrated
  • Show the status of migration (done, in progress, todo)
  • Highlight any reasonable additional or required prep work (e.g. migrate to x-teaser, any significant bugs or blocking upgrades etc.) for each app
  • Flag if any significant work is planned by another customer products delivery team for each app

The first pass at the list.

I'm late to this party. Is our GitHub project not suitable for this? https://github.com/orgs/Financial-Times/projects/75

Answer: No, it's not

The intention of this task is to ensure that information is accessible by anybody, especially to product folks. The key information we need to impart for them is:

  • Are the Page Kit team due to do any work which conflicts with my team's plans?
  • Will my team be working on something which might block migration?
  • Does my team need to do any work to enable migration to happen?

We also want to flag any risks that a migration poses so that principal engineers can see them.

I'll update the original issue to better clarify this.
