[FEATURE] - Provide a Flatpak version

adremides opened this issue · 3 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
We are not being able to use the plugin if obs is installed from flatpak

Describe the solution you'd like
We need the plugin to be packed for flatpak distribution.

Describe alternatives you've considered
The alternative is to wait until distro managers update the native package with latest obs version, or at least one with all features. In Ubuntu 24.04 Obs came with the version 30 and without Browser plugin.

Additional context
Maybe it is an easy way to make the plugin work with the flatpak version but I didn't found it and I tried everything I could think and can't make it work.

Thank you for the feature request. I'm on the hunt for some help on the Linux side of things, as I dont have a linux setup personally (The linux builds come "for free" as a part of the OBS plugin template build scripts). I'll definitely be looking into this, though I have no idea on a timeline.

Thank you for your amazing work!

It looks like flatpak OBS 30.2 broke support for plugins and the only fix is to compile the plugin against the latest flatpak version. I don't have much experience with building but I'll see if I can make a working flatpak version
