Is it a big change to stupport Salesforce DX project structure?

This is basically a question about future of this tool. Will it be supported while we have Salesforce DX?
Do you consider this tool to support only Metadata API way of metadata structure or Saleforce DX project structure support in a roadmap?

It would be nice to support the DX format, but I haven't needed it yet so I haven't built support for it. Pull requests welcome.
