Replace Aurora Droid with Neo-Store

Opened this issue · 5 comments

Aurora Droid has been unmaintained for few years now as its developer is solely focused on Aurora Store project. So it would be great if you replace it with a well maintained project, Neo-Store.

Hi!

I'll be honest, not a big fan of Neo-Store. Or material design 2 in general. But mostly cuz in my usage Neo-Store is somewhat glitchy and buggy in its UI.

But AuroraDroid is indeed long overdue to be replaced. I've been using FoxyDroid but that's been unmaintained for almost as much by now. Droid-ify is based on it so it's probably pretty similar (except the MD2). Of course a lot of the above is pretty subjective criteria personal to me, and this choice will have to be made on more objective factors, including functionality.

Do you know of any other F-Droid clients?

I checked all F-Droid clients I could find, there are around 20 of those. All of their repo are dormant for a year or longer, expect Droid-ify and Neo-Store. Droid-ify looks cool. Neo-Store also has a major update coming up near future - Changlog.

Neo store is not good design in my opinion

I would suggest Driod-Fy and i was wondering why not include F-Driod itself?

  • Droid-ify is buggy. I hope they become stable quickly. I like its design more than Neo-store.
  • Vanilla F-Droid doesn't include third-party repos. Also, It's too much buggy that I felt comfortable with Droid-ify.

FYI, Neo-Store 1.0 has been released.
