With SpeedupAnimations set to true in the mod config, some animated overlay textures from Gregtech (machine faces, item overlay textures) will either only animate if the player's crosshair is over the machine, and the machine is within reach distance, or in the case of some item overlay textures, not animate at all.

I am not sure if it is all items whose overlay textures break, or only some, but the issue is most noticeable when using the UU-Tex resource pack, as it adds animated overlay textures to the Flawless and Exquisite gem variants.
This issue also affects cosmic neutronium's special rendering.

Attached is a video showcasing the machine overlay issue:

Setting the config option to false (and restarting the client to make sure) stops the issue.
