Trigger scene from main button and reflect entity status

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask or I just don’t understand the card config. There doesn’t seem to be a main thread about this on the HA forum unless I just haven’t found it?

I have an extensive Hue setup with 99% of my house lights being Hue or running off Hue compatible zigbee modules of various types. I’ve been searching for a while to find a way to let me setup a button to trigger a Hue scene held on the bridge (or maybe in HA). i still tend to use the official Hue app to create scenes as the UI is very good and it’s easy to use. I love the work you’ve done on this card, it works really well for individual lights and I know I can trigger scenes, but I’m not sure if it can trigger a scene from the main button. I’m confused by the switchOnScene key and where and how that’s meant to work.

What I would really like is the option for a button to directly trigger a scene (or even control a group of lights) and reflect when they’ve been turned off and show that visually. Even better if the slider would then control the overall brightness of the scene like the official Hue app does. I know that scenes in HA don’t have states and that s probably at the heart of the problem I’m facing but your card would appear to move some way towards what I would like (if scene triggering and tracking is possible).

On a second point, when you switch on an individual light, is there a way to define the brightness and colour of the light from the button? That’s something I’m really struggling with in HA generally.

Thanks very much.
