how many ways are there, to mention a taxon? how many contexts?
like you want to mention the taxon …

  • just by itself,
  • by itself, but helping the reader by mentioning the rank,
  • by itself, but including authorship and family where it applies,
  • as a verification of an accession, then qualification applies, too.

I'm afraid we do have the functionality, but it's a bit messed up.

first one should not include the sp., the epithet should be italics and actually the authorship does not need be bold.
the second one is fine.
