error on jumphost

I am using the jumphost. getting the error when running command:
sb set project-id $PROJECT_ID
speralta@jump-host:~/core-solution-services$ sb set project-id $PROJECT_ID
Solutions Builder (version 1.17.18)
project_id does not exist in sb.yaml
doing a cat sb.yaml and project_id does exist:
created_at: 2023-Jul-19 19:00:45 UTC
modified_at: 2023-Jul-19 19:00:45 UTC
project_id: your-project-id
project_name: core-solution-services
project_number: your-project-number
