Use curl instead of httpie in code snippets

Context

For example on this page the documentation uses the httpie python tool. This is very inconvenient for people used to curl. Also Elasticsearch for example uses standard curl syntax and curl is well known and accepted.

To use the snippets one has to install an additional tool, which might not be very appreciated.
