Link types missing from classic styled markdown links

I recently started using classic style []() markdown links instead of wikilinks [[]] for better tool compatibility.
When I use a link type - link type [my link](source), the link type does not appear in the graph.
When I change the link type to wikilinks - link type [[source]] the link type appears as expected.

This may be inaccurate. I think the display doesn't always update when I make changes, and I might have detected patterns that don't exist.

Edit: I think the initial post is accurate. The strangeness I was detecting may have to do with leading spaces before the '-' breaking the syntax.

Perhaps this is all low priority with the new linking syntax anyway.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work! I haven't ever tested with markdown links.
