This issue is considered as partially fixed.

The GVT extension has been implemented in a3c74de. Nevertheless, I'm keeping this still open because I want to reintroduce also the correct CCGS realignment.

Moved to milestone 2.1.0 as this is not crucial for the 2.0.0 release.
