The Kryptos write up fiti-Kryptos.pdf does unlock with the correct root password.

Not sure what you mean. I tested it now. It is working. Please, try using another pdf reader software before opening an issue. I tested it using a standard Adobe Acrobat Reader in Windows. Closing.
