Looks like there was a problem with the readme missing npm install as the first step. Try running through the steps again and let me know if you're still not able to run it locally.
As for hosting — that's up to you. You can use any static site hosting such as Netlify. Personally I'm using AWS S3, but that takes a bit of configuration to get working
