Daily data reset issue?

LFishwick opened this issue · 20 comments

I'm unsure if this is expected behaviour (with reading the readme about showing previous data until approximately 0130) but I have the following daily data pattern (just picked last couple of days).

It leads to the energy dashboard being significantly wrong because I don't think it factors the drop back to zero in and doesn't show cost correctly.

Data in sensor matches bright app values.

Running v.1.0.2

i have the same issue in the energy dashboard - the sensors feeds from the bright app match fine, just the energy dashboard is wrong during the day and I think its to do with the 0130 data and daily reset like you say.

Great integration for HA but can confirm I'm also experiencing the same but strangely it seems to be at different times of the night (between 2am and 4am) - I had previously thought it may be something to do with timezones but this rules it out. Effects electricity and gas.

I'm having similar issues with the days resetting at around 02:00. In addition the reported peaks in my usage don't appear to agree with the actual time is usage. They tend to be delayed by 30-60 mins and either spread over a longer time period or get grouped erroneously into a single 1hr bin time slot. image

This is one of my favourite if not the favourite HA integration I have - big thanks to HandyHat.
Not sure how wide spread the issue above is but mine has got worse to the point it's probably missing half a day now.

I don't know whether this is the same issue or not, but I'm seeing new gas readings only start to come in around midday:

The totals in home assistant are quite a bit below those seen in the Bright app (around 20kWh lower)

Hi

Glad its not only me, love the addon but it seems to be slowing down my updates to HA and hourly useage is out compared to what it used to be and its having a knock on affect with daily, weekly and monthly figures been out.

I check the bright app and the data is up to date there.

I was making a conscious effort this year to get my data sorted for energy. HA Energy seems to have the data correct from the Hildebrand Addon, so I dont know if they use a different algorithm for this but month price is spot on, compared to my in home display (wanting to get rid of this) but I dont think we can get to the daily, monthly or yearly figures for this data.

Thanks again for your great work

I've looked into this a little more and now think it is an issue caused by the DCC days not being available. At 8:20 this morning, the Bright app only has days up to 2:00 available, you can see the phone time stamps and the black fields in the table view of the Bright App. HA is showing some usage up until the reset at 2:00 but it's also showing some usage at 6:00 and 7:00 even though the Bright App hasn't got that data yet. So it appears it is caused by a combination of the Bright data not being there and the integration resetting at 2:00. I hope this may help. image

Later on in the day the Bright app will catch up and back fill all the missing data for the blank time slots.

Just got back in again and its 2pm but after looking deeper. the last update from bright app is 3am this morning.

Just checked my Bright again, it's currently 5hrs behind. Trying to check Bright against what the integration is showing appears that it is using data that is 5 hrs old as the current reading. This seems to be what is causing most of the issues. image

You must be lucky, Im 11 hours behind here. So I guess its bright that are having the issue.

Same issue here. My data doesn't start coming in until midday now!

I have the same issue, there are delay periods in the Bright App, but the integration is showing a delay on that delay.

I've email support@glowmarkt.com to find out their view as well. Started about a week ago in my case.

I'm on SMETS1 converted to SMETS2 if that adds any colour.

BTW : The daily drop is to be expected as it's daily not cumulative. You can use a statistic card to track total daily cost over a time period though.

Chiming in with my observations, too - I'm a brand new setup; below is my first "full" day of post-integration collection:

Total cost tracking is also inaccurate and significantly lower than it should be.

I think this is the same issue I've started to notice - whereby the accumulating cost actually seems to go down at approximately 1.30am (see attached images) and doesn't seem to begin climbing properly until approximately 7am. This results in the daily cost always being too low compared to other apps (which I think is reported as a separate issue).

As well as being closely related to #305, I think part of the issue here is that the sensor never truly resets to 0, but home assistant expects it to. I think this should be resolvable, even if it means adding a fake date point
