GW2 Client Stalling after entering email & password

I had to go to my taskbar thumbnail and click the X in the corner for it to progress further. No buttons on the keyboard were being pressed upon launching the account.

GW2 is disabled while entering the login, preventing you from interacting with the launcher.
There's a rare problem where GW2 will ignore input until it gets focused. Clicking X on the taskbar preview would have done that, and since GW2 is disabled, it won't be closed. Normally this would have prevented the email from being entered from the start, whereas you see the problem begin right after.
The log shows that Gw2Launcher entered the email/password and tried to verify it at 12:45:18 (Verifying login), then GW2 did nothing until 3 minutes later at 12:48:13 (Clipboard was changed by PID 44532) when it finally responded to the initial verification. I'm assuming this is when you clicked X.
There isn't really a solution to this, as it requires focusing GW2. You can set the timeout (Settings > General > Launching > Timeout) to 60s to have GW2 automatically relaunch if the game hasn't started (only applies to accounts using auto login/play).
Alternatively, you could have a problem with the clipboard. Settings > Guild Wars 2 > Tweaks > Change how the email/password is entered. Use Post for the email/password and disable verification.
So I wanted to take a few days to make sure the issue was resolved. I did use the "Change how the email/password is entered" and used post for both email and disabled verification.
Upon doing so it no longer forces the Ctrl key to be held down when entering the information. I believe the key might have been getting stuck unintentionally because of my keyboard's software (firmware?) without actually physically touching the keys.
So far no client has stalled upon loading and things seem to be running a lot smoother using this method.
I'm having a similar problem. After Janthir Wilds launched, now whenever I try to log in, the client hangs exactly as described here. I tried changing both entry methods to Post and disabling verification, but something is going wrong now with data entry - at a guess, my email is getting written into the password field rather than my password, or the incorrect password is being entered. If I turn Verify back on, after several iterations of hitting the red X in the taskbar preview it hangs again and can eventually enter the correct information, but something about the Verify process seems to be messing with focus, while turning it off results in the incorrect information being entered.
EDIT: Using the beta version appears to have fixed the issue
