Accordion replacement?

Hi

Had 2 questions before using drop in an upcoming library:

• is drop a good library to use as an accordion replacement?
• Is it necessary to have the dropdown follow the element that triggers it? Can it be remotely triggered or does it need to be linear?
  For example

header (drop's Click / hover target)
__
body text images
__
footer (drop's popover menu)
