[Enhancement] Support for burst fire patterns
Opened this issue · 2 comments
Some gallery apps, like google photos and Aves, have support for burst fire patterns.
For example, Aves supports burst fire for Fairphone, Samsung and Sony devices.
I think it would be a good enhancement to the app, as my gallery gets filled up quickly with bursts with the current app.
What should happen?
When photos are taken in a burst, those photos should be grouped together in the main view. When tapped, these images are scrollable, so you can select the best image of the bunch.
What happens at the moment?
Right now all these files are displayed as their own image. When taking bursts, with my phone at 30fps, this quickly fills up the gallery.
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be great if it could be implemented in the same way as in Aves, where the filename is detected and the images are displayed appropiately.
Additional context
I think this feature would give the app a bit more polish, although I don't know how many people use burst mode, so I also don't know how important this feature would be.
What are burst fire patterns?
PS: Aren't they for camera apps?
PS: Aren't they for camera apps?
Yes and no, the camera app decides what the files will be named when the photo is taken. It is up to the gallery app to display it correctly.
I made 2 screenrecords to show the difference between how Gallery handles it and how Aves handles it.
Different camera's have a different filename for burst pictures, but the implementation should be the same otherwise.
