Get this in Chrome when trying to load the unpacked extension. Can you please check and fix.

Are you loading the google-unlocked folder or the extension folder within the google-unlocked folder? You should be loading the extension one.

This issue is invalid as I suffered the same problem, but selecting one folder deeper in the zip folder fixed it.

A longer-lasting fix would be updating the documentation to make the user experience more intuitive.
