Default Channel in Add Contact not populated

Hi,
I installed the new daemon and module and it appears to be working, however when I go to add a Contact, I can't choose a default channel from the dropdown, even though its required. How does this bit work? Any hints as to what I have missed appreciated!

Have you already configured channels? Even I'm not sure exactly what's going on there right now, the only thing I can think of as to why they're not populated is that you don't have any channels configured.

Ah yes. I totally missed that step. Sorry. Teach me to try get it working on a flaky connection while driving up the freeway.
