The definition of hosts and services within a defined business process is currenty done by hand via GUI oder editor. It is impossible to define a flexible business process configuration which includes hosts and/or services. Especially in the case a host is created by Icinga Director (which in many cases includes a hostname which is based on a pattern (in case of AWS that is a name starting with "i-" followed by numbers and digits)).

Describe the solution you'd like

It would be nice to be able to import hosts and servces to a business process definition based on either a flexible filter mechanism or some flag to be set. The solution should be flexible, so that it could be used in the "sync" process of Icinga Director automation

Describe alternatives you've considered

The only alternative solution we currently discussed is an external script which tries to find new/changed/deleted hosts/services and chnges the business process definition accordingly.

Additional context

I know that is not a simple request. It would be nice to discuss some steps which could be taken on the way to the goal and to start sometimes soon with a first step.
