i even reinstalled windows. clone hero detects guitar just fine

Should be detected in beta 4, its hardware IDs were missing from the supported device list.

Gonna need some more info about the guitar then. Can you open up Device Manager and find its hardware IDs?

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager from the list it displays.
  2. In Device Manager, go to View and switch to Devices by Container.
  3. Find the guitar in the list and expand it.
  4. Right-click the USB Input Device entry and hit Properties.
  5. Go to the Details tab and switch the dropdown to Hardware Ids, and post a screenshot of what it shows here. You should see something like this:
