When we use the latest Arduino Uno R3 board which contains an ATmega16U2,
the dfu-programmer says: "no device present".
Maybe the dfu-programmer is flashing the wrong IC, the at90usb82
I am using the latest UnoJoyOSX file on my MacOSX Lion 10.7.3

Hi,
Figured it out by visiting this forum thread:
http://arduino.cc/forum/index.php?topic=92148.0
Now the Uno R3 is shown as UnoJoy Joystick. Also, the Pid and Vid seem to be
changed!

Sorry it took me so long to respond! Apparently I don't have Google Code set up
to notify me about bug reports...
Thanks for finding this issue out - I'm not a native OSX/UNIX person, so it
took me a bit of time to figure out how to get everything together and compiled
with the patch, but I've updated the dfu-programmer program and scripts to work
with the R3. I'll be pushing those OSX changes to the repository in a little
bit, and re-assembling the download packages to support the R3!
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you get up and running
with UnoJoy!
