Package temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled

Closed this issue · 5 comments

Hello,

For some times now, I have a lot of troubles with fans, temperatures, heatlock, etc... I was lazy to ask for help but I cannot continue like this...at the end of the day, my computer is not usable just with a nodeJS + chrome + an intellij opened...

  • I am using ubuntu on wayland (to manage multiple monitor dpi easier)
  • I only use the intel card:
➜ ~ prime-select query
intel
  • At each startup I see error about cpu clock throttled, in my syslog :

  • I also repasted my CPU.

I am not an expert in linux system so if you have any advices that could help me...

I never experienced this error on the XPS, but take a look here

Thx @JackHack96 I'm gone a try https://github.com/erpalma/throttled

Woah that's cool! I didn't know about that project!
Maybe it'll be useful when I start using OpenMP and other parallel coding at the University

Hello, @jogelin I have the same problem (In my case, I have the same messages when using nvidia). Did the link actually solve the problem?

@ywpkwon I didn't really test...I just switch to Pop OS ! and I am simple using https://github.com/georgewhewell/undervolt to avoid
