Editor will crash when last project cannot be loaded

Describe the bug
Users can put the editor in an unusable state by removing the last project they worked on.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open the Editor
2. Create a new Project
3. Exit and save the new Project
4. Rename the Directory containing the project or delete it
5. The editor will keep crashing when the user tries to open it back up

This seems to apply to the current master only, the latest release version is not affected.
