Feature request: Add a compact mode that takes up only one space in the menu bar

A compact mode would be great, especially for notched laptops where menu bar real estate is at a premium. Rather than showing all of the spaces in the menu bar, just show the number of the current space (as in a rectangle). If I click, then give me a drop down with all of the spaces.
