Improve Gaussian Fitting

At the moment when fitting with gaussian distance model there is a very high chance of getting a singular matrix error. This orginates from the starting parameters, and can be fixed by modifying them.
Many users might find this ofputting and we should come up with a better interface that has a higher chance of success.
