How does xesmf treats grid cell with Nan values?

Hello everyone,
I want to regrid some satellite data with Nan values inside, using xesmf Regridder. Is there a way that Xesmf interpolate all the values in a grid cell without calculating the Nan values in that same grid cell (some how negelct the Nan values)?

Because otherwise I get false value either I do ignore_degenerate=True or False and also when I rewrite the Nan values to 0.

I wouuld be very glad if someone can help me in that point.
Thank you in advance.

Eventually I also stumbled across this issue and becomes even worse due to interpolation when you have stitched multiple orbits. For me, setting unmapped_to_nan=True was important to make sure no artificial values were created. However, I would request the developers to look into this issue.
I can provide sample data and minimum working code, but that would be around 100 Mb.
