I would really like to send a donation because I really like the screensaver. Unfortunately there are a bunch of problems. With macOS Mojave, the preferences don't work, the window doesn't show any icons, etc., it is empty. Under macOS Monterey on a MacBook Air M1, the screensaver doesn't work at all, if you have it activated, the display remains black.

The update process doesn't really work either, I'm stuck on version 1.5.2 and an update isn't carried out. There is a lot to fix in this application.

macOS Mojave is supremely old at this point (5+ years old), so yes you will encounter issues with the latest versions. I do my best to bring backward compatibility but there are limits to what I can reasonably do.

There are 2 parts to Aerial :

  • The screen saver (aka Aerial), this works fine under mojave. Latest version is 3.3.7
  • The updater, (aka Aerial Companion), the latest version currently has issues. Latest version is 1.5.2

What you want to do is install this older version of Aerial Companion (1.2.2) :
https://github.com/AerialScreensaver/AerialCompanion/releases/download/v1.2.2/AerialCompanion.dmg

You won't get icon issues, and then it will install the screensaver, 3.3.7 which should work perfectly fine.
