Short answer, yes !
I'm a developer like you. I created this package because I needed it for one of my projects, but I no longer work on that project. That's why I don't spend so much time maintaining it. I like OpenSource but I don't dedicate my life to it yet.
However, if you are interested in contributing, open an issue or a pull request, from time to time I look at them and accept them, there are also other people who are part of this project with permissions to accept pull requests. like @eliaslecomte, @Rapsssito and @gitisaac
