Would a Mastodon account for this project be possible?

Mastodon has JSON and RSS APIs so this should be very easy to implement. The endpoints looks like https://mastodon.social/@user.rss / https://mastodon.social/@user.json. You just have to write a new entry in api/ and write a parser in jmespath and you should be ready to go.
I would like to have another look at this project some time soon. Maybe I also implement support for messengers through KDEs telepathy.
