Character_delay_add() slowing down typist text

After I add a character delay for something like a comma, the speed of my typist changes entirely, assumedly at the same delay timing as the character delay. This stacks every time the character delay activates and I've seen it used the same way without this result.

The included code is set in the create event of my dialog object and any other code that makes changes to the typist has been checked if removing them makes any changes. I've seen no improvement.

Updated to latest version of Scribble and that fixed it just fine
