SSMS can show warnings as an icon in the node itself and an explanation in the tooltip
See issue7.sqlplan
for an example, representation in XML:
<Warnings>
<PlanAffectingConvert ConvertIssue="Cardinality Estimate" Expression="CONVERT(varchar(150),[mcLive].[Cadastre].[OwnerPersonParsed].[Surname],0)" />
<PlanAffectingConvert ConvertIssue="Cardinality Estimate" Expression="CONVERT(varchar(150),[mcLive].[Cadastre].[OwnerPersonParsed].[BirthName],0)" />
</Warnings>
