Sublime Text for manuscript text/images?

Closed this issue · 2 comments

I'm trying to wrap my head around using Sublime Text to write a journal manuscript and enjoyed your post https://hugogiraudel.com/2015/05/18/writing-in-sublime-text/ .

Its not obvious to me if Sublime Text supports multiple text columns on a page, footnotes, and illustration re-sizing. Is this possible? Is there a 'manuscript' plugin?

Thank you.

Hey Cord!

Sublime Text remains a text editor. It is not meant to do document presentation, like Word or InDesign. In the end, it will only give you raw text. So I don’t think it is the software to use for your goal. :)

@cordphelps, for real type setting, you can use LaTeX inside Sublime (or another text editor like Visual Studio Code). It will however make the process quite a bit more involved, but with likely a better end result than using e.g. Word
