Manufacturer code for a custom device

Hello,

I am planning to add a custom device to the zigbee2mqtt. The device itself has OTA functionality and I would like to have a chance to update the device's firmware using zigbee2mqtt.

Zigbee-OTA image requires to specify manufacturer ID. As I understood, this ID is provided by the CSA-IOT and it is not that cheap to get a prescribed ID for a low-volume/hobbyist device.

What is your attitude on this situation? Should low-volume devices not support OTA? Should such devices use some "reserved" manufacturer ID unrelated to the CSA?
