Counter not incriminating

Not sure if I'm just missing something; but the counter is not incriminating at all for me, every visitor is assigned the same id in the database 0398d60abb9405b110006a9a5e5868bbc597ecb24096176ec24a722e8d651759
At the bottom of every page I have:
{{ Counter::count('site-footer') }}
I've tried from different browsers and different IP's but only that visitor ID is being generated.
Am I missing something or is this actually an issue?

Disregard. My issue was that my cookie name had a period in it. replacing it with a tack resolved the issue.
Great package by the way!
