Problem

I only get a 404 response when I add your settings to my Fritz!Box.
I'm using a Strato domain with cloudflare.
I tried using ipv4 and ipv6, neither worked (ipv4 will probably never work due to my provider)

Settings

  • Strato domain
  • cloudflare setup
  • A record is shown in cloudflare
  • AAAA record is shown in cloudflare
  • DynDNS settings in Fritz!Box as you explained

Could you please let me know your FRITZ!Box DynDNS settings (without your Cloudflare API token)?

The "www" record is a CNAME in your screenshot. Can you change it to A or AAAA?

Fi0x commented

I can't change the Type of the record and if I create an A or AAAA record, it only lets me put an IP in the Content field.

But shouldn't the CNAME record point to the AAAA and A records? (The content of the www CNAME record and the name of the AAAA and A records are the same)

The black parts are all the same address:

Just remove the CNAME for www and create a new A (or AAAA) record for www with the value 8.8.8.8 (or 2001:4860:4860::8888 for AAAA) and try again.

That seems to work! Thanks a lot for the help.

What would I have to specify for record if I only want to change my A record? Essentially, I don't want to change the A record for www.example.com, but I want to change the A record for example.com.
