Make the release artifacts more convenient to use

Right now the executables are used as release artifacts. that means that the executable has to be made executable after download and the name is more verbose than it should be. It would be more convenient to zip the binary before uploading it as an artifact

As an alternative to zip files it might make sense to provide an installation script that does the right things
