Devices won't show using new Arduino IDE, resulting in error

Results in error build.core and build.variant refer to different platforms, old Arduino IDE works fine

Which version of the new version do you use? Which board did you try to use?

@Legion2 I'm using the latest version 2.2.1 with CLP SparkFun Pro Micro 5V 16MHZ. I have a Pro Micro clone though but this same board works using old Arduino IDE.

The new Arduino IDE is currently not supported and I don't have time to investigate the problems.
