When running fugu it gives me this output:
Connecting to iDevice: Done!
Device is not in pwned DFU. Exploiting now.

while if I try to launch Fugu in VirtualBox (windows10 host mac guest) with macOS Mojave 10.14.4 i have the following output:

Device has no nonce descriptor!
Checkm8 (the exploit used by Fugu) cannot work in a VM as it requires USB passthrough

Correct! next option could be dual boot, rather than VM.
i have the same error on an m1 macbook pro using usb c hub and macos Monterey 12.1
After wasting a 2 days weekend, there were some experience that I want to share with you (or the one who want to try in future)
- ALL ARM (i.e. M1, M2) MacBook were not supported, you will stuck at "stage 1" and your iPhone reboot
- MOST OF the USB-C to lightning will not work, and exploit failed
- Best practice: USB-A to lightning + Intel MacBook + hub(for non-USB-A MacBook)
