Why can't analytics be disabled?!

Hey there, the box for analytics is checked and can't be unchecked in the preferences. Why can't the analytics and reporting be disabled?

Because I never set it up. If you're worried I'm sure you could use something like littlesnitch to block the connections.
Just to follow up, they're useful to me and nothing personal is being shared. I'm using AppCenter for the analytics.
