Revert back or uninstall module

The module has a uninstall script so if flashed again will it uninstall the module?
The module modifies the boot image and adds files to the system partition, so would it be sufficient to make a backup of boot image and system partition?
Above scenario needed only in case of failure of installation. Please guide
