Selection Highlighter: Looks strange

Selection Highlighting works but looks a little bit strange - depending on the
selected look and feel.
Selection works - as the CopyAction proves.
Linux + Default-LnF: looks fine, highlighting background is blue
Windows + System LnF: no selection visible
Linux + Nimbus LnF: Single line selection: works
Multi line selections: First/last line: black background + white text (looks
good). The other lines: white background and white text - no selection visible,
text not readable.
Disclaimer: We use Jide! So maybe there is something wrong with their look and
feel extensions?
