Up/Down panel direction

It would be awesome if the panel could also be configurable to slide up and down.
An example use case would be like Google Play Music, Spotify and Soundcloud's bottom bar to swipe up and see the album art or swipe down to navigate the rest of the app.

I'm not sure if that's outside the scope of this project, but the interaction is almost the same as a left/right slideout menu.

Would be happy to contribute towards this feature.
