Partial uploads: Allow selecting which items to upload

Here, the second change is ready for upload. But we are still working on the first.

If there were checkboxes we could pick and choose which items could be uploaded now and which items later. Currently it's "all or nothing."

(Yes there are laborious workarounds.)
