Make a change to the GUI when the fiurmware enters the 'Stop' state

This is a sister to Firmware Issue#457 - "Change machine state messge when 'Stop' is in effect".
As discussed in this thread, the firmware can signal to GC that it is in the 'Stop' state so the GC can make that known in the GUI.
