Regedit freezes when I open any menu

Every time I've been trying to import a registry file, Regedit freezes up and I can't select anything. It also freezes the entire Steam OS and I have to hard reset my Steam Deck. This is getting frustrating and I feel like something is broken in Protontricks that's causing this.
