zd1211 chipset and hostapd error

My dongle is a sagem xg-760a which is a ZyDAS zd1211 chipset. For some reason I keep being greeted with the following errors.
main - WARNING - A possible WiFi driver issue has been detected.
main - ERROR - Unable to start hostapd.
I am not very fluent with linux commands by I was able to get SpillPass2.1 to work correctly and give StreetPasses after having used "sudo apt-get install zd1211-firmware -y".
